Stryde ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Stryde mobile application and website at strydecoach.com (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number (if provided).

Profile & Training Data: To deliver personalized coaching, we collect information you provide during onboarding and throughout your use of the Service, including:

• Age, gender, height, and weight
• Fitness level and training experience
• Race goals and target events
• Training preferences and schedule availability
• Workout history, performance data, and progress
• Self-reported data such as perceived effort, soreness, and fatigue

Device & Wearable Data: If you connect a third-party device or service (such as Strava or Garmin), we may receive activity data including GPS routes, heart rate, pace, power output, and other sensor data, subject to the permissions you grant.

Gear Data: Information about your training equipment, including type, brand, and mileage logged.

Communication Data: Messages you exchange with the AI coach, feedback you provide, and any support requests.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, session duration, device type, operating system, and IP address.

Waitlist Data: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and phone number (if provided).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, personalize, and improve the Service
• Generate and adapt your training plans
• Power conversational AI coaching tailored to your goals and history
• Track your progress and provide analytics
• Facilitate race-specific community features
• Send you notifications, updates, and promotional communications (you may opt out at any time)
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
• Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Service
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraud

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: We share data with third-party providers who assist us in operating the Service, including cloud hosting (Google Firebase), AI processing (Anthropic), analytics, and payment processing. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
• Community Features: If you participate in race-specific communities, certain profile information (such as your display name and race goal) may be visible to other community members.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Third-Party Integrations

Stryde may integrate with third-party services such as Strava and Garmin. When you connect these services, their respective privacy policies govern the data they share with us. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. We use data received from third-party integrations solely to enhance your coaching experience within Stryde.

5. AI Coaching and Third-Party AI Services

Stryde uses AI to generate your personalized training plan, adapt it based on your workouts, and power the coach chat. The AI is provided by Anthropic, PBC ("Anthropic"), the company that makes the Claude family of AI models.

Data sent to Anthropic's API:

• Training profile: sport, race distance and date, weekly hours, pace zones (run / bike / swim), goal finish time
• Workout logs: completed sessions, RPE, notes you add
• Coach messages: the messages you send to the in-app coach chat
• Plan adaptations: feedback on previous weeks used to adapt upcoming weeks

Data NOT sent to Anthropic:

• Your name or display name
• Your email address
• Your profile photo
• Your payment information
• Your precise location or GPS traces

Anthropic processes this data solely to generate the AI responses returned to you. Anthropic does not use Stryde user data to train their models. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their commercial terms; see anthropic.com/legal/commercial-terms and anthropic.com/privacy.

You consent to this data sharing at the end of onboarding when you tap "GET MY FREE WEEK" — the disclosure is shown directly above the button. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account in Profile → Settings → Delete Account; this removes your profile and stops all future AI calls.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
